They are excellent index fossils, and it is often possible to link the rock layer in which they are found to specific geological time periods. Ammonites' closest living relative is probably not the modern Nautilus (which they outwardly resemble), but rather the subclass Coleoidea (octopus, squid and cuttlefish). Estate Sterling Silver Necklace Unique Pendant Onyx OLD
Well it's odd isn't it? I don't exactly know what the symbolism is on this piece - the bottom screw down and you can change the stone in the middle - I guess to suit whatever metaphysical need you desire - this is exactly the way I found it and I have left is unpolished. The bail on the top is large enough to accomodate a small to medium chain. It does sit on a flat surface so I guess you could just set it into a shadow box type situation. The bottom piece that holds the orb does show some use and I have polished one small tip to make sure it will polish up nicely. It's a one and only piece and has no markings whatsoever. I can't even date this one as it was an estate find and I have never seen one like it. I do have a multitude of round minerals that would fit well inside this one - if you would like them just ask.

She is a sweet beauty. Hand painted leaves and flowers with light sapphire hand set Swarovski flatbacks in the flowers. The pendant itself weighs 5.9 grams of sterling silver and is signed on the back"sterling". The chain itself is 18 inches long but does have some Tarnish on the chain. Not sure it can be cleaned as I do not clean anything anymore - too much to list - just moving on. So let's say there is no chain. The pendant itself shows no sign of tarnish whatsoever. It comes from old stock and the pendant measures 1 & 1/4 inches long. This one is another one and only piece.

Excellent example of fine American Indian craftsmanship - politically correct matching right and left detail on the earrings. The earrings measure 2 & 5/8 inches long excluding the fish hooks and weigh 15.8 grams. The earrings are unmarked. the matching 3 pc necklace weighs 30.5 grams and is marked an is simply marked Sterling and the initials WP which is the way most older antive american made items were marked - simple artist initials. The necklace measures 20 inches long overall. Could use a polish but some prefer their items tat way so I will leave this up to the new owner. the cost on this item is based on the excellent detail, age and quality of a great Native American made item. Beautiful set.

Old Vintage Sterling Silver Dolphin Lost Wax Charm
Another great piece - weighs 5.2 grams of solid sterling silver. This item was made using the old world lost wax casting process. The jump ring is large enough to accomodate a small to medium size chain. It measures 1 and 1/8 inches across. I will be listing alot of vintage sterling today.
