Title Art Deco Era Blue Bohemian Glass Necklace Choker 1930's Estate Fire Polished
Item Number s-l500chris
Another great piece from the estate lot. Long story short - the double faced gold plated findings are the only thing that remain from the original necklace. I purchased it even though it was totally trashed because I knew I could salvage it. It was originally flapper length at 60 inches. The beads were glass bohemian fire polished with many cracked or chipped beads. They were a mess. I used chrysoprase in a variety of shapes. Sometimes called Queensland Jade I love this stone myself. 7mm firepolished rounds, 8mm tubes and that one big drop on the end. I couldn't match exactly the earrings but gave it a good stab as I thought this necklace deserved the earrings. Those antique findings measure 1 inch each end to end and have that marvelous design on both sides. Ended up being a double strand with the shortest (top) strand measuring 14.5 inches long. The extender chain which drops that lovely single bead down your back is another 5 inches so there is some room to play with. I've been doing jewelry for a long time and those antique findings are so special - I enjoyed breathing some life back into this piece.
