1751 Bible Book Common Prayer Psalms Church England Baskett Bates Antique Oxford
1 1751 Bible Book Common Prayer Psalms Church England Baskett Bates Antique Oxford
used
Serious inquiries - there are 16 more pictures - send me your email and I will forward. I've had this bible for awhile now - there is some personal information contained within the bible. It was given to a Charles Bates by a Robert Dormore at the baptism of Bates son Peter on June 29th 1751 in or at the parish of St Margarates - Westminister. Their penmanship was so exquisite back then. There is a further reference to Robert as being baptized April4 1701 registered in the parish of Burnham county of Bucks. That was signed by an M Tate That information was recorded on the first 2 pages of this bible On the last page of the bible it states that Peter Bates was born on june 29th of 1751 again St Margarates - Westminister. That inscription was signed John Harding. There is also a very small envelope on which someone has hand written so obscure information in regrds to something about 1200 paintings - I really can't make much of that out - perhaps you will be better at it. The leather front and back are not in jeopardy of becoming detached. However it is a well read bible. There are no other hand markings that I found. The pages are kinda of water marked (see pics) but not ripped or folded. Condition is as shown in pictures. Considering that this book is 264 years old - I think it is in fair condition. I love old bibles and their history. This family did take care of this bible I think. the parchment is not all crispy or crumbling. The pages turn freely. I've tried to research these families with not a great amount of success. the Bates family tree is quite extensive and spans many centuries and 2 continents. It seems there is a lot of information in the 1700's that might be lost. Found not an over whelming amount during that time but a lot of information from the 1800's and on. Being a layperson researcher I'm thinking you must have been important to have your child baptized in St Margares at that time but I could be mistaken. I so wanted to find more info on these 3 people but alas no luck. If you have any further info or I have gotten something totally incorrect in this listing please feel free to contact me for addressing. I will ship this item fully insured with delivery signature required.

2 ANTIQUE ART DECO 1930's NECKLACE Siam RED GLASS BEAD FLAPPER TASSEL PENDANT

They sure don't make them like this any more - hand knotted between the beads on the backside (neck). 4 gorgeous elongated siam red beads that measure 1.25 inches long each. The beads are in really good shape - a small flea bite here and there overall nice shape. The smalls are old fire polished Czech beads. The big reds are 16mm. The entire piece measures 33 inches long. I don't get to see many like this one any more.

Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Vanity Brush Repousse Flowers BJK & Co.
3 Antique Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Vanity Brush Repousse Flowers BJK & Co.

This item is not in mint condition however the repousse design is so lovely I have always accepted the flaws for the beauty of the design. The topside middle does have dents in the flat oval middle. Hope you can see them in the picture. The bristles are in good condition compared to most that I have seen with large patches missing or bent. They are still in relatively straight condition. The delicate detail continues down to the handle and I hope that I have taken sufficient photographs. It measures 10 inches long from the handle to the end of the bristles. It's 4 inches across the bristles. There is a serial number on the topside - Rd490595. there is a makes mark on the side that reads: B.J.K. & Co. and 3 English stamping marks after that.

Antique Dutch Cobalt Hand Wound Beads 18th-19th Century Dogon Heirloom Beads 37
5 Antique Dutch Cobalt Hand Wound Beads 18th-19th Century Dogon Heirloom Beads 37

Deep deep rich cobalt blue color - their large beads varying between 15 and 20mm. Their history is amazing and wish I had a paper trail but with antique trade beads that is rarely an option. I picked them up at the Tucson Gem show. It was a yearly pilgrimage for me for many years. There are 37 hand wound beads in this lot created in Holland. They were generally produced between the 1400's to late 1800's and widely used in the African trade with the Mali region of Africa. The beads measure 22 inches long combined. As with all antique trade beads they have the usual pitting and dents typical of the era. There is however NO chipped or cracked beads. These are quite old and do show some pitting which is a natural and expected result of age, use, and travel. These tiny imperfections add character and beauty these rare and collectible beads. They have been carefully packed away by me over the years. This is a substantial purchase so do not hesitate to ask questions or request specific pictures - happy to do it.

Antique Edwardian Pin Sterling Silver Filigree Stamped Hallmarked Brooch Estate
6 Antique Edwardian Pin Sterling Silver Filigree Stamped Hallmarked Brooch Estate

Delicate Edwardian sterling brooch. The filigree is in immaculate condition. In the center is a ruby red stone which actually I have no clue what it is. The stone is bezel set into the sterling silver. There is a hallmark on the back simply stamped Sterling. The pin clasp is tight and secure. Condition is very good for its age. This piece comes from my own private stash. My best guess on the age is circa 1900s to 1910s It measures 2 inches wide and 5/8 of an inch tall. It weighs 3.5 grams

Antique Serving Spoon Oneida Queen Bess Tudor Plate Vtg 1924 Slotted Pierced Old
7 Antique Serving Spoon Oneida Queen Bess Tudor Plate Vtg 1924 Slotted Pierced Old
used
Nice wide serving spoon - is it for vegtables? It measures7 and 1/2" long. Another 2 & 7/8 inches across the pretty flat bowl. There's some of that colorful - rainbow patina going on at the end of the bowl. I tried to capture it. I'm not sure wether or not to polish it or not. There are light surface scratches from wear but no worn plate on the bowl or handle. I think it's a pretty little piece. On the handle it states Tudor Plate Oneida Community Made.

Antique Sterling SS Locket Fob Picture Victorian Birmingham England 26gm 1880
9 Antique Sterling SS Locket Fob Picture Victorian Birmingham England 26gm 1880
used
Very substantial piece - might be my favorite from the estate lot so far. It's an interesting piece weighing 26 grams so heavy in hand. It's very ornate and considering the age of the piece - 135 years old the only visible wear is to the smooth backside. It is clearly stamped with the anchor and the lion with a 3rd marking that is worn and I can't clearly ID. Above these 3 stamps are the initials G F. The center oval is raised to a 3d fashion. The locket itself measures 2 & 5/8 inches long and 1 & 5/8 inches wide. This includes the bail. It is also 5/8 inches thick. Attached to the bail is a very large spring ring clasp. Gets interesting here. Attached to the spring ring is another piece. It's just over 1 inch in length and has the same loop top and bottom. Not 100% sure but perhaps a chain ran thru it at one time. Possibly a watch fob. The inside has 2 very wonderful pictures of a dapper gentleman. They are in pristine condition - not faded or worn - each one enclosed behind a clear - I think glass oval. I would have to take the pieces completely out of the frame to determine the exact material content and I'm just not comfortable with as I do not wish to alter or damage the original condition. I will leave that to the new owner. *Someone asked about picture #1 - on the front side of the bail - there is an indentation - it looks like someone stamped it - not like a dent - it's too small and concave. I can't read anything into it. The loop connecting it to the actual locket is not soldered so if you wanted to flip it around to the smooth other side you could. I'm leaving this as found. Where as the upper piece is attached by spring ring that too could be flipped around. I'm leaving these choices to the new owner. Over all a very fine example of the Birmingham era work. I do have more from this estate to still list so if your a fan of this time add me to your favorites and check back now and then. This item will arrive in a gift box suitable for gift giving and will be insured for the full value. Signature upon delivery is required.

Antique Stewart Warner Gauge Ford Panel 1928 1932 ? Model T Dash Thingy
10 Antique Stewart Warner Gauge Ford Panel 1928 1932 ? Model T Dash Thingy
used
Ok fellas - I'm not even going to pretend to know what the heck this thingy is but all the guys down at the shop thought it was pretty cool. I did do a little research here on ebay and know it's worth more than $10. Anyway - Drew said it was really cool because all the little gauges seemed to work. The amperes gauge moves a bit if you shake this thing. Chuck says its cool because the speedometer thingy moves left to write and it moves as well. I guess the car only had 82,054 miles on it - at least that's what it says. There's that big hole above the speedometer and I'm not sure if there is a missing gauge or not. The knobby thing on the left pushes in and out and I have no clue what that is either. Someone told me it goes on either a 1928 - 1932 Ford. Gues they didn't change the part much during those years. Does it work? Beats the heck out of me - I don't even know how it's supposed to work. I do know that if your buying it to fix up a car your probably gonna want to re-chrome the thing because it's pretty pitted and I hope the pictures reflect that. I tried to shoot it from all angles - the glass on the 2 gauges is not chipped or cracked. Not sure what else to say. It's being sold as is - no warranty.

Antique Topaz Chatelaine Pendant Necklace Bohemian Blown Glass Vtg Patina Estate
11 Antique Topaz Chatelaine Pendant Necklace Bohemian Blown Glass Vtg Patina Estate
used
Considering the age on this one it's pretty immaculate. with a looking glass there is a small amount of patina around the spring ring clasp. Glass beads and cab are hand blown - tiny little bubbles in the center piece denoting the age. 4 little enamel accents and fabulous filigree details. I love the detail on the center connector. The necklace measures just a tad over 19 inches long. I love this piece - hope you will too - it's amazing. Another gem from that estate lot. Comes in a gift box.

Antique Victorian Chatelain Pin Amethyst Glass Revival Art Nouveau Renaissance DazzleCity
13 Antique Victorian Chatelain Pin Amethyst Glass Revival Art Nouveau Renaissance DazzleCity
used
I love this piece so much - it's so beautiful. It measures 3.5 inches long. It measures 2.5 inches wide. The prongs on the middle large oval are pretty cool and liken to fleur de lis which I find interesting. All the stones are in great shape - I've hoarded this one for quite some time. I think the smaller round stone on the right side of the picture had a repair somewhere along the life of the pin. It has more of a rose gold plate than brassy gold. The pin closure rolls well and is secure. That final drop on the bottom is a solid bead - not holed thru. That large top stone is actually 1 inch wide with a high profile.. Will come in a gift box suitable for gift giving and will ship fully insured.

Antique Vtg Pocket Watch Case Locket Rose Gold Embossed Floral Design Letter A Sterling
14 Antique Vtg Pocket Watch Case Locket Rose Gold Embossed Floral Design Letter A Sterling

THERE IS NO WATCH - this listing is for a case only - but it's a beautiful case indeed. I used it as a picture locket. Embossed with a lovely gold and rose gold floral motif. I put it on an Italian sterling silver chain (vermeil) stamped 925. There is some wear to the backside - hope that shows in the pictures. Letter A. Measures 1 3/8 inches across Lovely piece that just needs a watch - I'd date it between 1880 and 1910

Antique Vtg Rose Gold Filled Ornate Floral Heavy Repousse Bangle Bracelet FM Co
15 Antique Vtg Rose Gold Filled Ornate Floral Heavy Repousse Bangle Bracelet FM Co

The engraving is outstanding with a scrolling floral motif. It measures 7 inches with a flex ruler to the inside of the bangle. The locking clasp mechanism is tight and secure. It is more of a rose gold plate than a high polished gold. It does have a issue with the hinge. I think it was repaired at some point but they did a crappy job in my opinion. If I was keeping it I would have a jeweler look at it. I should have taken a picture of it opened at the hinge - remind me and I will add that. It measures 5/8 inch across the floral design (width). It opens just fine and closes fine. It's just got some wrinkle at the hinge where the 2 parts come together. As for the floral design itself it is pristine. It was an estate find so elaborate history to tell. Sold as is.

F B Rogers Silver Co Sterling Salt Cellar Master 3 Footed Signed Patina Stamped
17 F B Rogers Silver Co Sterling Salt Cellar Master 3 Footed Signed Patina Stamped

I chose unknown for age because I am not an expert on salt cellars - my best guess is late Victorian. It is stamped inside F B and there's some other kind of other stamp - sort of looks like a flower. 3 little scalloped feet. Weighs 22.9 grams and measures 2 inches across. I have no history to tell I loved salt cellars and have quite a few and really I have no clue where I got this one. It is tarnished but I'll let the new owner do that if they desire.

Polish Amber Specimen Baltic Sea Russian Raw Rough Natural 60.2 grams Uncut
19 Polish Amber Specimen Baltic Sea Russian Raw Rough Natural 60.2 grams Uncut

This is one of several pieces of Baltic amber that I acquired in the late 80's from a dealer who was from Poland. I met her at the Tucson Gem Show. I bought amber beads - jewelry and specimens from her for several years. Her brother owned the mine and I trusted her exclusively. I used this specimen to display in my jewelry case of amber so that customers could see the various stages made when making jewelry. I started with a raw piece - then a sliced piece - then a polished piece ect till you got to the finished bead. It made a really great and educational display. Drew a lot of attention. Anyway - don't have a store any longer and probably won't again so clearing out of stuff. This piece weighs 60.2 grams. It measures 3 inches across. 2 & 3/4 another way. The thickest part measures 1 & 1/4 inches. It's uncut

RARE 19th Century Shefield Dixon Estate Salesman Sample Casserole Dish 1820 1850
20 RARE 19th Century Shefield Dixon Estate Salesman Sample Casserole Dish 1820 1850
used
I've had this piece for a long time - can't even remember where I got it. Over time now and again I've tried to find anything like it but couldn't. I did a bit of research on the marks and here is what I found: James Dixon w Shefield the business of manufacturing silversmiths, platers and Britannia metal workers was commenced in 1806 by James Dixon in conjunction with Thomas Smith in Silver St Sheffied. In 182 they moved to Cornish Place which enabled them to expand. In 1823 Smith withdrew and Wm Frederick Dixon son of James joined the firm. In 1830 they began making silver and plated goods at Cornish Place by acquiring the firm Nicholson Ashforth and Cutts. James Willis Dixon 2nd son of James (did he name them all James??) joined the firm the name was changed to ames Dixon and Sons. In 1836 they began to make spoons and forks from nickel silver. and in 1848 started to produce electroplate. (found that interesting thought it was something much newer) Anyway - this piece is clearly marked PNS - plated nickel silver which I attribute to pre-electroplate hence circa 18820-1850. On the underside of the lid is stamped a thistle. No clue what that means. I believe this is a salesman's sample piece from a larger casserole set - in the last picture on the side of the piece - there is a small smooth spot which I believe was for monogramming - someone has lightly scratched that spot. I think perhaps testing it for silver which I don't think it is. Over the course of many years I have never seen another listed on ebay or in google images. It measures 3/8 inches across handle to handle. It sits with the lid on the table 3 3/4 inches tall. Wide it measures 4.5 inches. If I've missed some detail please ask If I am way off on this piece - email me - really love to have the exact date on this piece - I've done the best I could to ID it
